However, before we, as species, hit the next stage of our evolutional development, we will have to figure out a few domestic problems back on Earth. In February 2022, when Russia initiated a full-scale invasion of its neighboring Ukraine, businesspeople and philanthropists worldwide started investing in innovative tech to help Ukrainians protect their homeland. Ukraine-born Maxym Polyakov did not stay behind, offering generous support both in financial donations and space tech expertise.

By the time of Russia’s aggressive invasion, Polyakov had already built several established businesses in the space niche besides EOS Data Analytics. Additional Space Insight & Agreements with EOSDA
To boost Ukrainian defenses even further, EOSDA entered into an agreement with the European satellite provider GEOSAT. Together, both EOSDA and GEOSAT now supply the Ukrainian troops with satellite imagery of the country and its surrounding territories. This data is used not only for reconnaissance but also for rebuilding the war-damaged infrastructure.
When commenting on this deal, Maxym Polyakov specifically stated that satellite capabilities would be used for peaceful purposes — enhancing ecological activities and developing industries. During the war, satellite imagery will give Ukraine critical insight into troublesome areas, which should, in turn, help come up with relevant solutions to any wartime challenges.
SAR Satellite Capabilities for Ukraine
A few months into the invasion, it was already clear that Ukraine could use SAR (synthetic aperture radar) capabilities, not just satellite imagery provided by different partners worldwide. In late August 2022, Serhii Prytula’s charity organization announced purchasing a SAR satellite to boost the Ukrainian Army defenses. The foundation also expressed gratitude to Maxym Polyakov, who shared his space industry experience and assisted in the purchase. Prytula shared that Polyakov’s involvement and connections ensured the deal went fast and smoothly. Besides, EOSDA advice was invaluable when figuring out the technical aspects of the deal.
More Ukrainian Charity Initiatives from Maxym Polyakov
With the beginning of a full-scale war in Ukraine, many public figures started engaging in a variety of charitable and humanitarian activities. Thanks to their support, Ukrainian businesses have come up with innovative defense products, found channels for spreading the truth about war, sanctioned many Russian companies, and contributed their share to supporting the Army through volunteering.
Maxym Polyakov is one of the Ukrainian businessmen actively supporting his compatriots through sharing technical expertise and financial donations. Polyakov was one of the first to donate to a charity foundation, TAPS, helping the war victims. In April, Ukrainian public figure Serhii Prytula reported a sky-rocketing donation of $1.3 million to his foundation from Polyakov. Right now, it is obvious that space technologies play a major part in warfare — not as weapons but as intelligence and defense mechanisms. Thanks to the support of critical-thinking entrepreneurs like Polyakov, the Ukrainian Army is regularly supplied with equipment that saves lives and gives a competitive advantage over the invading enemy. And once the war is over, Maxym Polyakov believes that the same space technology will be used for a peaceful restoration of the country.
