Make a List

This is the simplest way that will give you the push you need. Making a list makes you aware of all the chores that are still pending. Not only this, but you can also make a list of short-term and long-term goals. Write down grocery lists, reading lists, weekend plans, work meetings, school assignments. Anything you want. When you write it all down, it becomes clearer. You have your goals and tasks somewhere concrete. They don’t just exist in your mind. Where it’s easier to forget about them. So, when you go through your list, you’ll realize you have a lot to do and learn. And a lot to work towards and live for. Lists are even more fun when written down on actual paper instead of on the screen. While they’re both effective, the former is also therapeutic. And you can always get cute notebooks and pens that will make you want to write.

Clean Your Space

Cleaning is the most common form of therapy. When you clean your room, your house, your space, you also de-clutter your mind. A clean space will make it easier to have a little more clarity of thought. Arrange your wardrobe, or just pick up the clothes from your bedside. Start somewhere. Find a nice playlist on Spotify and just begin the de-cluttering process. Not only will you r=have room to breathe, but you will also feel more productive. Plus, organizing every little thing into shelves and piles will make you feel like you have your life in order. Also, cleaning is usually the first step out of laziness. Start simply with your bed and you’ll slowly make your way out of the rut.

Go For a Jog

A jog or a run. In fact, any exercise that will force your muscles to get moving will help. It’s best if you do this outdoors to also get a hit of some sunny vitamin D. But a gym works too. As long as you move. Working out is important because it greatly boosts your energy. Not only this, but it also makes you happier. And this is backed by science. When you exercise, your body increases its production of serotonin. This is the hormone responsible for happiness. This will motivate you to do more and to get out of bed and face the music. But if you’re not feeling up to some hardcore cardio, you can always start light. Begin with low-intensity workouts like Pilates and Yoga. And be consistent with your workouts.

Don’t Underestimate the Power of a Pep Talk

Pep talks can have an intense effect on you. You can force yourself to do almost anything with the help of a good pep talk. And the most effective of these talks are the ones you give yourself. Because nobody knows your mental state, goals, and aspirations better than yourself. So, it’s always a good idea to give yourself an occasional reminder. And to keep repeating the importance of these goals. But if you’re too lazy to do this, there’s always YouTube. And Google. Look for inspirational Ted Talks or motivational speakers. Set Realistic Goals

Be kind to yourself. There’s a good chance you’re feeling lazy because you’re overworked. And tired. Give yourself a break. And stop trying to achieve the world. Set small, manageable tasks. This way you won’t get demotivated when you fail to live up to unrealistic standards. In fact, such standards could also be why you’re feeling lazy. It becomes tiring to always have to achieve too much. Go easy on yourself. And start small.
